COMPETITION GUIDELINES AND REGULATIONS

1.
Basics about the Nordic and Baltic Kids for Kids
Nordic and Baltic Kids For Kids (NBKFK)
is a part of Videotivoli and at the same time part of bigger
international KFK network organized by CIFEJ. NBKFK is a
competition for films made by and for children. As a part of
Videotivoli it will also be a meeting place for young filmmakers,
media experts and the interested public. This international event is
organized by Pirkanmaa Film Centre co-operating with CIFEJ.
2. Selection
A Selection committee will choose the films to be shown in the
Nordic and Baltic Kids for Kids Competition of the festival. Only
films that have been cleared of rights (including musical
rights) will be accepted. The films have to be entirely
made by children / young people from 6 - 16 years old.
The wide range of forms and the different
possibilities for an aesthetic realization of subjects are of great
importance for the Festival.

minutes.
Films will be accepted in 3 categories:

Animation,
·
Live action (Arts) & Documentary and
·
One-minute films. One minute category films are 1 minutes long or
less.
These three categories are also divided into
two age categories: under 12 and 13 – 16 year old film makers.
If your film is selected for the Competition,
you will be notified in writing by the Videotivoli / CIFEJ managing
team.
3. Awards
The festival management will appoint a professional jury (and a
children jury). The Jury (these juries) will award the following
prizes: Best film in each age group, in each category, and
one GrandPrize for outstanding achievement in a film made
by children from each age group. Awards and Prizes will be announced
at the conclusion of the festival.
4. Deadline for submission
All films and entry forms have to be sent before 20th of
December 2007.
You must send with each entry a good quality Mini DV cassette or DVD
(don’t send CD-R copy), the fully completed entry form and a short
description of the film, its creators, and the context in which the
film was made. The English dialogue list is also required. Whenever
possible, please send a photo from the film and one of the
filmmaker(s) via e-mail for the festival catalogue and the press.
5. Shipping information
Send you entry form via e-mail to
videotivoli@videotivoli.fi.
Send you work – videocassette or DVD + filled entry form with the
signature to:

Shipping expenses for the film are to be born
by the submitter. All films should be labelled: “For temporary
use only. For festival and cultural purposes only. No commercial
value”. Films sent by courier must be accompanied by a proforma
invoice stating a total value of no more than 10 € to avoid you
having to pay duty.
6. Film return
Mini DV cassettes and DVDs will not be returned. The films will be
submitted for the festival will remain with Kids For Kids Festival /
Videotivoli for individual / scientific purposes.
7. The Best of
The best films of the Nordic and Baltic Kids for Kids will continue
their journey to the International KFK compilation. That DVD
compilation will be produced and offered to festivals around the
world upon request.
